Clare women are being urged to open up about their menstrual health on World Menopause Day, if it affects their daily lives.

A new Unite survey has found that 60% of women in Ireland don’t feel comfortable discussing menstrual health issues with management at work.

The Irish trade union also found 28% had suffered a financial impact from taking time off due to menopause or menstruation issues, even with many products and toiletries available for free.

Chartered Physiotherapist for Women’s and Men’s Health & Continence from Kilkee, Aoife Ní Eochaidh says it is important to speak about the ‘taboo’ subject.
