On Thursday’s Morning Focus, Alan Morrissey was joined by preschool-teacher Clodagh Harnett and Michael Farrell, Brain Tumour Ireland board member and former neuropathologist.

This coming Sunday marks the beginning of International Brain Tumour Awareness Week. Michael Farrell, highlighted the importance of this campaign and discussed the types of tumors and treatment options.

Clodagh Harnett, a Clare teacher set up a GoFundMe page to help her student Sofia, a four-year-old child who is battling cancer. Clodagh is Sofia’s teacher at Naíonra Dearcán Bheaga.

Sofia started preschool at Naíonra Dearcán Bheaga, the preschool service based in Gaelscoil Donncha Rua, in Shannon, last September. However, in February, she was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumour and has since undergone multiple surgeries and rounds of chemotherapy.
