Munster Ladies Senior Club Championship Football Final: Banner Ladies 1-09 – Ballymacarbry 2-13
The Banner Ladies have fallen at the final hurdle in their bid for Munster glory.
The Lahinch road outfit were in Mallow afternoon to take on Waterford titans Ballymacarbry in a repeat of last year’s decider.
At the interval the Déise side enjoyed a 0-07 to 0-04 lead, however second two second half majors would ultimately prove decisive as Ballymacarbry won out by 2-13 to 1-09.
The Banner were unfortunate not to gain a share of the spoils with two late goal bound efforts expertly saved by Ballymac netminder Lorna Fitzpratick, whose side would go on to claim their 16th provincial crown.
