Mark Rodgers has become just the second Clare man to claim the ‘Young Hurler Of The Year’ Award.

The 21 Year-Old was recognised at the annual PWC/GPA All-Star Awards at the RDS in Dublin last night, where Conlara’s John Conlon and Eire Óg’s Shane O’Donnell also received their All-Star awards in the centre-back and wing-forward positions respectively.

The Scariff man was instrumental in the Banner County’s journey to the All-Ireland Hurling Semi-Final last year, striking 4-27 along the way.

Rodgers is the first Clare man to achieve the accolade since Tony Kelly in 2013, while Feakle’s Adam Hogan was also nominated for the award for his breakthrough season in the corner-back jersey.
