UHL Among Most Overcrowded Facilities Nationwide Today

University Hospital Limerick remains among the most overcrowded facilities nationwide today.

Figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation indicate 22 patients were waiting on trolleys in the emergency department alone this morning while a total of 69 were without a bed throughout the hospital.

Cork University Hospital was the most overcrowded facility during morning rounds with 79 on trolleys there while 35 people were waiting for a bed in University College Hospital Galway.

In total, 532 patients were on trolleys at facilities across the country.
