Clare could experience an employment boom in a number of sectors this year.
New research from FRS recruitment indicates that job openings in this county are expected to rise by 12% in 2024.
FRS is anticipating particularly strong demand in accounting, insurance, engineering, construction, cybersecurity and social care personnel across the country this year.
On a national basis, employment opportunities are expected to rise by 8%, however Clare is tipped to buck the trend and achieve growth of 12%.
It follows an extremely disappointing twelve months for this county, when job openings fell drastically by 30% over the past year.
General Manager of FRS Recruitment Lynne McCormack believes the economic uncertainty of last year led to many employers putting major projects and hiring on hold.
She says this ripple effect has now subsided, leading to strong demand for industry in the MidWest.
The data follows the most recent Higher Education Authority Graduate Outcomes Survey, the findings of which bode strongly for the region.
It shows that graduates from the Technological University of the Shannon had the highest number of alumni nationwide in employment in their chosen field after graduating at a rate of 86.9%.
TUS undergraduates were also more likely to take up employment in the regions served by its six campuses, which includes Ennis and Limerick, and in the sectors of manufacturing, construction and engineering.
Peter Ryan, Recruitment Manager for Campion Insurance, which recently acquired Munster Group in Ennis, says the greatest challenge has proven to be getting qualified personnel in the door.
