36% Reduction In Clare New Home Builds Last Year

The number of homes built in Clare has fallen by 36% in the last year.

New figures released by the Central Statistics Office show that just over 400 new houses were completed here in 2023.

The CSO’s latest quarterly report on new dwelling completions shows that just 126 homes were built in this county between October and December.

This brings the total number of new houses constructed in Clare last year to 408, which is 36% lower than the 556 residential units delivered here in 2022.

Of the homes built here over the past twelve months, ten were apartments, 164 were part of housing schemes and the remaining 234 were one off homes.

On a regional basis 67 new homes were built in Ennistymon, 95 in Killaloe, 64 in Shannon, 61 in Kilrush and 114 were delivered in the county town.
