A Clare member of the Miscarriage Association of Ireland is reminding women they don’t have to feel alone while dealing with the grief of losing a baby.

A peer support meeting for those who’ve experienced a miscarriage will be held in the Greenhills Hotel tonight at 8pm while another meeting will take place in the Inn at Dromoland on September 10th.

It’s estimated one in five women in Ireland will experience a miscarriage at some point in their lives while figures from the National Maternity Hospital show there are approximately 14,000 miscarriages here each year.

Miscarriage Association of Ireland committee member and volunteer Ashling Moloney says a key aspect of the group’s work is allowing women to share their stories with others who’ve gone through the same thing.
