Clare Developer Claims Tax Break Will Lead To Increased Supply Of Rental Properties

A Clare developer claims unless financial benefits are provided, most developers won’t undertake large scale, time consuming housing projects.

It comes the Institute of Professional Auctioneers and Valuers has called on the government to reintroduce the Section 23 tax break which was in effect before the crash to increase the amount of available rental properties.

With the lack in availability of rental properties, it’s hoped the tax incentive would greatly incentivise builders and developers to undertake projects that provide supply to the rental market.

Ciaran Breen of Ciaran Breen Construction says the reintroduction of the tax break would encourage developers to tackle tougher projects that otherwise would have been avoided.
