It’s hoped a new funding boost will alleviate major pedestrian safety and traffic congestion issues in Clare’s fastest growing town.
It’s after the Sixmilebridge Town Team was granted €50,000 to design a footbridge over the O’Garney River.
In 2022, a masterplan was developed for the South-East Clare community under the town centre first initiative, which outlined 25 key priorities to make the area a better place to work and live.
Sixmilebridge Town Team Spokesperson Mark Noonan says the footbridge will breathe new life into the area and bring legacy issues to an end.
