A young Clare mother recovering from addiction insists the danger of cocaine is that it’s “so easy to get” and it’s “everywhere”.

Shannon native Orla Higgins was 19 when she first used cocaine and quickly found herself in the throes of addiction – eventually stealing from friends and family to fund the habit.

Now 24, she celebrated 100 days of sobriety on July 31st and will be participating in Coolmine Therapeutic Community’s abseiling event at Thomond Park on September 27th.

The mother-of-one says there’s nowhere you can go where cocaine is more than a phone call away.
