A 40-house development in Ennis has been given the go-ahead by Clare County Council, despite a number of objections against it.
The housing estate, which is to be located at Ashline on the Kilrush Road in the county town, has been the subject of a number of submissions, including from the Woodhaven Residents’ Association and environmental campaign Peter Sweetnam.
The residents association have welcomed a development of this scale but expressed concern over the capacity of the sewage system, among other issues.
But the estate, which will be made up of two-bed, three-bed and four-bed units, has passed the Part 8 planning stage with Clare County Council.
