There are nearly three times more patients on trolleys at University Hospital Limerick today than any other hospital in Ireland today.
The INMO’s Trolley count shows a vast reduction on usual levels across the country this Christmas Eve, with a total of 217 patients on trolleys throughout Ireland.

49 of those are at UHL, while at the next busiest hospital – Portiuncula Hospital in Co. Galway there are only 18.
26 of the patients in Dooradoyle are in the Emergency Department, with the remainder being accommodated on trolleys in wards.
