Clare’s Fine Gael TD has acknowledged the frustration of some locals in Newmarket-on-Fergus over the long wait for a new GP.
It was May of last year when former GP Dr. Colm Hackett retired, but now the HSE says it’s hopeful that a replacement GP will be appointed by the end of June.

Over recent months, GP services have been provided from the Shannon Medical Centre.
Deputy Joe Carey says – it’s proven particularly difficult for older people – or those who are vulnerable who have had to travel for care.
