Crews have been dispatched to the area and works to address the issue are expected to be completed by 8 o’clock this evening, with supply expected to return within the following three hours.

Irish Water says it’s continuing to work with the operators of a number of private Group Schemes in the area to clear airlocks and carry out other actions in a bid to restore water more quickly when bursts occur.

Irish Water have issued the following statement:

Repairs are being carried out to a burst water main which is causing supply disruptions to Coore, Cree, Cooraclare, Miltown Malbay, Spanish Point and surrounding areas in Co. Clare.

A traffic management plan will be in place for the duration of the works which have an estimated completion time of 8pm this evening.

We recommend that you allow 2-3 hours after the estimated restoration time for your supply to fully return.

We are also continuing to work with the operators of a number of private Group Schemes in the area to clear airlocks and carry out other actions in a bid to restore water more quickly when bursts occur.

Irish Water and Clare County Council regret any inconvenience as a result of this outage and thank the local community for their patience as we work to repair it.”
