The North Clare side have enjoyed huge success at underage level since joining forces, winning back to back minor titles in 2019 and 2020.

Selector Joe Cahill says both clubs have bought into the arrangement and the benefits are showing.

Meanwhile, Newmarket manager Liam Clancy feels credit is due to Clare GAA for ensuring that a window was found to play this years U21 hurling championship.

Newmarket overcame Sixmilebridge and Clonlara to reach this evening’s decider, scoring five goals in their two games to date.

Clancy says it is vital for players at this age group to have as many games as possible.

Throw in this evening in Gurteen is at 6.30pm
