Newmarket Celtic March On To Quarter Finals Of FAI Junior Cup

Newmarket Celtic will be in the hat for the Quarter-Final draw of the FAI Junior Cup.

The South-East Clare men eventually got the better of Limerick’s Regional United in extra time after the contest remained scoreless after ninety minutes.

A Darragh Leahy headed goal in the first period of extra time ultimately proved decisive in getting Newmarket Celtic over the line.

Elsewhere Avenue United are among the teams through to the next round of the Clare Cup.

They beat Bridge United 1-0 this morning.

The Cherries will have their opportunity to join Newmarket Celtic in the last eight of the FAI Junior cup when they face Colga United of Galway on Saturday, February 12th.
