An Ennis GP is aiming to dispel myths propogated by the “menopause industry” at an upcoming national event.
Taking place during World Menopause Month and on the same week as World Menopause Day, Dr Máire Finn will be speaking at the National Menopause Summit Cork which will be held in Cork City Hall next Friday the 20th of October.
Research carried out by the Menopause Hub in 2022 found that of the over 1,000 menopausal women surveyed, 84% felt their symptoms affected their work performance, 81% felt unable to discuss this with their employer and 38% had considered quitting their jobs because of the severity of their symptoms.
Ennis’s Dr Máire Finn says it’s vital women who experience menopausal symptoms have access to the right information.
