Midwest Hospital Campaign Group To Go Before Oireachtas Committee Today

The Midwest Hospital Campaign Group has stated its intention to convey the reality of the ongoing UHL overcrowding crisis at a government committee hearing this afternoon.

The campaign group, which submitted a petition signed by 15,000 people last year calling for the re-opening of emergency departments at Ennis, Nenagh and St. John’s Hospitals, will appear before the Oireachtas Public Petitions Committee today to highlight problems observed at University Hospital Limerick.

It comes on a day when 87 were waiting on trolleys at the region’s main hospital, which was yet again the most overcrowded facility in the country.
