Shannon Doc has implemented its contingency plan ahead of an expected surge in presentations this Christmas.
For the next week, the out of hours GP Service will have 20% more nurses, doctors and call centre controllers on its roster than this time last year.

ShannondDoc will provide full cover on Christmas Day and St. Stephen’s Day, and although normal GP services will briefly reopen from December 27th to 29th, Shannon Doc will take over again from this point until January 2nd inclusive.
CEO Peter Clarke says urgent cases will be prioritised.
