Former Clare Selector Says Cathal O’Connor Was One Of The Best To Ever Pull On The Saffron & Blue

A former Clare selector believes Cathal O’Connor will go down in history as one of the best footballers to have ever pulled on the saffron and blue jersey.

The Coolmeen man has announced his inter-county retirement after more than fourteen years of service.

After making his debut in the National Football League in 2009, O’Connor would remain a vital fixture at midfield and was named man of the match when Clare defeated Roscommon to secure an All-Ireland Quarter-Final place in 2022.

Miltown’s David O’Brien has been telling Clare FM’s Daragh Dolan that Cathal was a player that always rose to the occasion.
