Ennis and Shannon towns centres will be hosting Lollipop Day collections points for cancer this weekend.
Today and tomorrow, 80 locations across the country will be selling charity lollipops in aid of the oesophageal cancer fund.
Ireland has one of the highest rates in Europe of cancer affecting the oesophagus or food pipe with over 500 people diagnosed here each year.

Kilnaboy teacher Conor Davoren, who is currently in recovery from the disease, says it is vital to get a check if you have symptoms to make sure you catch the disease early.
