105 Admitted Patients Waiting For Beds At Region’s Main Hospital

Nurses say the level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital is almost double that of any other facility in the country.

The latest figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation shows there were 105 admitted patients waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 41 of those in the Emergency Department.

The overall figure is 51 more than the next busiest facility; Cork University Hospital and comes on a day when there were 591 patients on trolleys at hospitals across the country.
