Revised Speed Limits To Come Into Effect In Clare By November

Revised speed limits will come into effect on Clare’s roads before the year is out.

Last April, Minister Jack Chambers announced a review that would aim to reduce limits on national roads from 100km/h to 80km/h, local and rural roads from 80km/h to 60km/h, while built-up areas would be limited to 30KM/H.

According to the local authority, designated local and rural roads in Clare will be reduced to 60KM/H speed limits by Novemeber and limits will be reduced on some national secondary roads in the county by June 2025.

 

Ennistymon Fianna Fáil Councillor Shane Talty believes the measures will save lives.
