Clare Childcare Provider Fears Exodus From Sector If Government Doesn’t Listen To Workers

A Clare childcare provider fears there’ll be an exodus from the sector if the Government doesn’t listen to the concerns of workers.

A number of groups which together represent 80% of childcare providers in Ireland are threatening to exit the Government Core Funding programme as they claim it isn’t sufficient to meet the “unsustainable rising costs” of doing business.

If this happens, it’s estimated fees for parents will increase by between 30 to 40%.
