There’s widespread relief that plans for the Crusheen Rail stop have escaped the significant cuts outlined in the government’s Capital budget plans this week.
17 billion euro is set to be spent on capital projects over the next five years – with the focus on health, education and jobs.
45 million will be spent on flood risk management and mitigation with the coalition confirming that the major flood relief scheme currently taking place in Ennis will continue – while other works around the country were shelved
And despite a huge reduction in the Transport spend – department officals have confirmed that the money for the stations at Crusheen and Oranmore remain in place.
