As we heard across Clare FM’s news bulletins on Tuesday, the process of exhuming the body of Patrick Nugent started yesterday in Feenagh graveyard in Sixmilebridge.
Patrick died in February of 1984 from injuries sustained after a function in Bunratty Castle where he worked as banqueting manager.

Addressing the media at a press conference yesterday, Inspector David Finnerty of Shannon Garda Station said that even a seemingly insignificant piece of information could be invaluable to the cold case investigation.
