Public Consultation Underway On Revamp Of Mars Cinema

A public consultation is underway to establish a future use for a derelict building that was once the pride of West Clare.

The Mars Cinema in Kilrush operated for over 40 years before it closed its doors in 1991 and had capacity for 850 people to enjoy the latest movies, operas, theatre, dances and even on occasion boxing tournaments.

A walk in-clinic will bed held at Kilrush Town Hall from 4pm to 7pm on Thursday next week where locals will be able to put forward their recommendations.

 

Chair of the Kilrush Historical Society Lisa O’Sullivan says they want to building to thrive all-year round.
