Post-Pandemic Remote Working Surge Leading To Rising House Prices In Clare

A post-pandemic surge in remote working coupled with insufficient housing supply is said to be causing a rise in Clare’s house prices.

The latest report from leading property website Daft.ie has found that the median price of a home here between July and September was €269,229 which was more than 47% above pre-pandemic levels.

The average price paid in the third quarter of the year in Clare was 10% higher than in the same period last year while by contrast, prices nationally were up by just over 6%.

Economist at Trinity College Dublin and author of the Daft.ie report Ronan Lyons has been telling Clare FM’s Seán Lyons that the number of homes being built in Clare isn’t sufficient to cater to the level of demand from people looking to move to the county.
