Clare residents are being advised to make sure they have at least two working smoke alarms in their homes.
Yesterday marked the beginning of Fire Safety Week 2024, the theme of which is “we didn’t start the fire, but what did?”.

The most recent Census revealed that 2,216 homes in Clare are without a functioning smoke alarm.
Clare County Council Assistant Chief Fire Officer Kieran Greene says every dwelling is different and has specific requirements when it comes to fire safety.
