Trolley Numbers Spiral To 107 At UHL

Nurses say the level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital is continuing to rise.

The latest analysis from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation shows there were 107 admitted patients waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 46 of those in the Emergency Department.

The overall figure is 34 more than the next busiest facility; Cork University Hospital and 55 more than Galway University Hospital.

 

It represents close to a fifth of all patients waiting for beds at Irish hospitals today.
