Clare Sakada Chair Believes Ireland Closer To Occupied Territories Bill Than Ever Before

The Clare-based Chairperson of Sadaka – the Ireland Palestine Alliance believes we’re closer now to banning trade with illegal Israeli settlements than ever before.

It comes ahead of a public meeting at the West County Hotel in Ennis on Monday at 7:30pm which will mark the first anniversary of Israel’s ongoing bombardment of Gaza.

The meeting will hear calls for the passing of the Occupied Territories Bill which seeks to prohibit trade with illegal Israeli settlements, and is currently stalled in the Dáil at the second stage.

 

Kilmaley native Eamon Meehan says the mood has changed within the Government in relation to Palestine due to the undeniable horror being perpetrated on its civilian population.
