Gardaí Issue Fresh Appeal After Shots Fired In Ennis Housing Estate

Gardaí have issued a fresh appeal for information, after shots were fired in a residential estate in Ennis.

The incident happened in the Acha Bhile Estate on the Lahinch Road last Friday night.

Just after 10 o’clock on Friday night, Gardaí received a report of shots being fired in this residential estate on the Lahinch Road in Ennis.

A man in his 40’s was subsequently arrested and detained under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act and was later released without charge.

Another man in his 20’s was subsequently arrested and detained under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act.

HE appeared before Limerick District Court yesterday, charged under Section 11, which is the Production of an Article During the Course of a Dispute under the Firearms and Offensive Weapons Act.

Gardaí say more people were involved in this incident, however, and the investigation is ongoing.

A number of perpetrators are believed to have left the scene in a wine coloured Volkswagen Passat and those involved are described as male, wearing dark clothing and face coverings.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident, or who may have witnessed any males wearing face coverings in the Acha Bhile estate to come forward.
