It’s reported today that householders will be able to self-assess the value of their home for the property tax.

According to the Irish Independent, people will put their property into a value bracket, using a check-list provided by the Revenue Commissioners – and those who undervalue it will face penalties.
A major publicity campaign is being planned for next March, with the tax due to come into force in July.
