Strikes from Ryan O’Donovan, Keith O’Driscoll and Shane Aherne gave Cork a four-point victory in this Munster minor football championship game in Cusack Park.

Quite simply, Clare must now beat Kerry next Thursday. Nothing else will do but a one-point win will secure a provincial Final appearance.

Shane Meehan, Diarmuid Fahy and Dara Nagle gave the Banner a 0-4 to 0-3 lead after the first quarter but following Ryan O’Donovan’s major, Clare were playing catch up.

They levelled at 0-7 to 1-4 by half-time and the teams traded white flags after the break before Keith O’Driscoll’s second Cork goal.

Clare got back to within one point through Conor Hassett, Shane Meehan and Jamie Stack but Shane Aherne’s third Rebel green flag ensured the spoils for Cork.
