Both sides in the Element Six dispute are set to return to the LRC next week.
Unions and management met held exploratory talks at the Labour Relations Commission yesterday aimed at resolving the bitter row over the redundancy deal being offered to workers.
Meanwhile Element Six Manager Ken Sullivan says the financial position of the company is in dire straits.
It comes after newspaper reports today that the industrial diamond manufacturer made a loss of 48 million euro last year.
Mr Sullivan says management is seriously hopeful a solution can be found at the LRC and if the proposed rescue plan was implemented the company could be saved.
