The Population continues to grow in County Clare, with latest birth rates continuing to reflect an increase.
The Central Statistics Office figures for the second quarter of 2009 show that 480 babies were born to Clare parents – that’s up 28 on the same period in the previous year.
338 babies were born to married parents, with 142 unmarried births registered – 113 of which were to cohabiting couples.
15 births were registered to mothers under the age of 20, with 27 births for mothers over 40.
227 deaths were registered in Clare in the same period.
