Strict visiting restrictions remain in place at the Mid-Western Regional Hospital in Limerick due to an outbreak of the winter vomiting bug

There are five confirmed cases in three wards and strict infection control precautions are in place through out the hospital.

As a result of the restrictions, visiting is currently permitted only in the case of critically ill patients and paediatrics.

The public are requested to co-operate fully with the advice and instruction of staff.
