Govt urged to move on connectivity situation at Shannon

The government’s being urged to seperate Shannon Airport from the DAA as soon as possible in order to allow it to develop a tailor made business plan to tackle the drop in commerical traffic.

Recent figures from the Irish Aviation Authority revealed that the Mid West Airport is now in danger of being by pass by Cork in becoming the second largest airport in Ireland.

The loss of connectivity is being blamed on mismanagment and a lack of prioritisation by the DAA which Fine Gael MEP Sean Kelly says must change
