Clare’s car industry continues to recover from it’s slump, with sales last month more than doubling the same period last year.
In all 131 cars were registered in July, compared to just 55 in 2009.
The figure means that 1750 cars have now been sold in the county in the first seven months this year, over 70% higher than the same period last year.
Fords continue to be the most popular brand of car in the county, while Clare motorists have also been choosing a more environmentally friendly option, with neary four-fifths of all cars sold here falling in the A or B tax brackets.
