The Civil Defence Department in Christchurch says there’s no chance of finding any more survivors of the recent earthquake there.
There has been no live rescues since last week and authorities are now looking to recover the remaining victims.
At least 161 people are known to have died.
However police say the final death roll could be as high as 240.
