Householders urged to recycle over Easter

32-thousand tonnes of used packaging will be generated in households across the country this bank holiday weekend.

And it’s not just empty Easter egg cartons – they only account for about 2 percent of the waste.

Irish households recycled 18-thousand tonnes, or 50 percent of all used packaging over the Easter break last year.

Darrell Crowe from Repak Ireland is asking people to make an extra attempt to recycle more this year.
