Broadband services in Kilrush are to move into the fast lane with the activation of a Metropolitan Area Network throughout the town.
The 1.9 million euro project, 90% of which was paid for by central government, makes the West Clare town the first in the county to receive such an investment. It has been ready for operation for over 12 months, but was only fully connected this week.
