A Garda investigation is underway after the discovery of the body of an 11 year old girl in Co. Offaly last night.
The little girl’s body was found at her home in Tullamore, after emergency services were called to the scene shortly before 9pm.
She was taken to the Midlands Regional Hospital in Tullamore, where she was later pronounced dead – the cause of her death is not yet known.
A 50 year old woman was also taken to the hospital last night.
Gardai say the scene remains sealed off today for a forensic examination and a post mortem is due to be carried out later.
