Celebrations to mark 40 years of third level education at the University of Limerick are taking place today.
The beginning of a year long series of events will see 80 of the first graduates of UL conferred with honorary doctorates as tales are shared of the chaging face of the university since 1972.
UL continues to grow, with 40 buildings now spread across 330 acres in Counties Limerick and Clare and founding President Dr. Ed Walsh hopes it will continue to play a major role in the mid-west economy
