New figures show a further decline in traffic at Shannon Airport last month.
With an average of 55 commercial movements at the airport each day, the Irish Aviation Authority has announced that this marks a 7.3% fall when compared with the same month last year.
In recent months, the annual fall has been in the region of 4%.
Overall, commercial terminal traffic at the state airports did increase in September, but this was largely driven by growth at Dublin Airport.
