Clare County Council says the government’s decision to reduce it’s funding could affect it’s ability to stage and promote events to co-incide with The Gathering next year.
Councillors have called for special certificates to be given to all visitors to the county, and for new festivals be created in order to entice people into the various parts of Clare.
However, officials with the local authority say no national funding has been made available to underpin such proposals, and have warned that they expect funding to be further constrained next year.
