Further remand for 3 charged in connection with Ennis Feuding

Three people charged in connection with violent feuding in Ennis have been remanded in custody for a week.

Two men and a teenager arrested following Sunday evening’s ramming incident at the Maid of Eireann Roundabout were back before Ennis district court today.

Having been remanded in prison custody yesterday, 45 year old Bernard McDonagh of Ashline, Ennis was brought before Judge Patrick Durcan again today accused of ramming a number of vehicles including a garda car creating a substantial risk of serious harm or death.

He’s also charged with three counts of criminal damage and the assault of John Doherty at the Maid of Eireann on Sunday October 14th.

Also before the court today were 37 year old Christopher McDonagh of Childers Rd Ennis who’s charged with possession of an iron bar with intent to cause injury to John, Martin and Jimmy Doherty – and a 16 year old  – who cannot be named  – is accused of intent to harm the same three members of the Doherty family while in possession of a hatchet.

Judge Patrick Durcan granted an application from Ennis Gardaí  to have the three further remanded in custody, while they await instructions from the Director of Public Prosecutions.

They’re due in court again next Wednesday.
