Clare farmers affected by the heavy rainfall this summer are being encouraged to attend meetings this week, organised by a taskforce established among a number of local groups.
The group, which includes the Department of Agriculture, representatives of banks, Teagasc and farming bodies, are holding meetings from Monday to Thursday this week, being held in Gort, Kilrush, Ennis and Scarriff.
This will be followed by further engagement on a local level, along with the provision of one to one assistance where necessary.
Speaking on this morning’s edition of Farm Focus on Clare FM, Brendan Heneghan, Head of Teagasc for Clare and Galway, encouraged farmers to take part.
