Referendum Bill Misprint

A misprint means 30-thousand copies of the Children’s Rights Referendum Bill in post offices around the country will have to be pulped.

Ireland will vote on article 42-a of the constitution next month, but the document wrongly mentions article 40 instead.

That article refers to the right to life of the unborn.

The Department of the Environment says new versions of the correct Bill are expected to be printed up at no cost to the taxpayer.
